Manifestation vs. Alignment
Breaking Down the Science
I stopped trying to manifest when I realized that it really doesn’t work for in all cases. In fact, I would be willing to bet that it’s truly a masculine skill. I’m sure there are feminines who will argue that they’ve manifested specific outcomes but, I think that’s just alignment. Manifestation and alignment feel very different when you break them down.
When one manifests, they hold a vision for a specific outcome or goal and focus all of their energetic output toward that end. Some might use the 369 method where they write out, in specific terms, what they want to happen, while other people just say a thing, a set of numbers, or a mantra and it gradually appears in their reality. I have used certain manifestation techniques that have yielded in the past, particularly those tied to numerology, but I would even argue that those moments were also tied to alignment.
Alignment is about destiny. It’s less about having offensive energetic control and more about radiating in the vibration that already feels aligned with said thing. This is where I typically get confused because that also sounds like manifestation.
Isn’t manifesting essentially aligning with the energy of your desired outcome?
Perhaps-
But I’m learning that there is a subtle difference between manifestation and alignment that isn’t always explicitly discussed. There is a sense of repetition that comes with manifestation that isn’t necessarily present with alignment. Conversely, the intuitive guidance from spirit that cultivates alignment isn’t always the driving force behind manifestation.
While this is just my opinion, it feels like each phenomenon has a different mechanism; a different science that creates its outcome. One form is very feminine, which involves a lot to being, stillness, listening, and waiting before acting. The other is much more repetitious, deliberate, action-oriented and forceful; quite masculine, indeed.
Understanding tarot cards clarified this for me. When I think about the difference between The Magician and The High Priestess, their dictomoy mirrors that of manifestation vs. alignment:
The Magician in tarot often represents the master manifestor through the planet mercury. Mercury is the planet of communication and sensory understanding. It also governs the signs Gemini and Virgo. So, when you break it down, manifestation feels a lot like a communicative relationship with the universe by providing it clear, perfected, language around what you want. Communication via the throat chakra, is inherently, a masculine energy space.
In simpler terms, it’s asking the universe for something in the language it can actually understand. We often assume that human language must mean that the universe automatically understands what we’re asking for but, the truth is, the power of words and the way the universe receives our words can be stark different from our intentions.
When you look at the High Priestess, she is ruled by the moon, a planet that is intuitive, sensitive, and cyclical. The cyclical nature of alignment is what I think separates it from manifestation because, one is always being given new opportunities to adjust alignment.
Alignment comes and goes like the seasons and with each change, one can shed the necessary dead weight to better align with their highest path. With each energetic renewal, much like the moon, who is ruled by the astrological sign of Cancer, initiating the processing of emotions is what creates the clearing for alignment, a quality that is uniquely Cancerian. The more you listen to your intuitive nudges, trust, and invest in your spiritual senses and relationship, the more you can continuously shed what is no longer serving you and better align to your highest path.
This is why alignment and manifestation feel separate to me. While I do attempt to manifest, on occasion, alignment, as a feminine led individual, feels more accessible to me. If I’m naturally inclined to listen to my inner nudging, I can more easily align with my highest pathway. In the times where I’m feeling more of my masculinity, that’s when I utilize a mantra or some numerology just to give the universe that extra push.
While this is all new to me, I know that understanding these ancient practices is an important part of responding to the universe in the next coming years. As we shift further into the Age of Aquarius, attunement will become just as necessary as navigating the open roads of the earth. Guidance and the way we move forward will depend not only on intellect, but also on the deeper understanding that we are in the world, but not of it.
